The sustainable site design at Fox Run revolves around preserving existing wetlands, mature native forest stands and restoring disturbed natural
areas. This site is rich in natural systems and wildlife. These natural features where integrated with the site development using large tree save
areas, wetland mitigation, creative storm water management, reforestation and the establishment of new Michigan prairie areas. A series of storm
water detention basins have been transformed into wetland habitat adding to the diverse types of wetlands already present on the property. KWLA
developed a maintenance schedule and training video for the campus. Best practices are explained for no mow and natural areas, and for properly
maintaining the manicured areas of the campus using reduced watering and minimal pesticides and fertilizer.
